SKP Music and Movies is a full entertainment outfit, a record label based in Nigeria and some other West African countries. The label is owned by Sam Kargbo a.k.a Uncle Sam. Artist under the label: X Project Styl Plus Azadus X-Project is a synergy between Nigeriaâs Majeed Akinwunmi Akinwoye (Majeed), and Sierra Leoneâs Aziz Mohammed Kamara (Slez), and Salieu Umaru Sindi (Saal). The group was formed in 2000, with Majeed as band leader. Initially, the group had an additional group member Moses Kamara (Shack). They had a long standing ambition to define standards for Afro, R&B, Hip Hop & Dancehall tunes. Their debut album, âTumba Danceâ was originally released in Freetown in 2004, while their second effort âDance for Meâ was released in Sierra Leone in early 2005 and in Nigeria in August of 2005. The group made an outstanding impact in the Nigerian and Sierra Leonean music industry. X-Project won a Presidential Award - All Works of Life Awards (AWOL) for their first debut album released in Sierra Leone with the song âTumba Danceâ as the best song of the year 2004. In 2005, the group released their 2nd debut album âDANCE 4 MEâ and had smash hits with songs like âAyemiâ and âTumba Dance Remixâ (Yoruba Version). âAyemiâ became the most requested love song on every major radio station in the country, and âTumba Danceâ has continued to electrify every club and party to this day. The group was also nominated an AMMEN AWARD for the best new group 2005/2006. They have just concluded a yet to be released album titled âSierra-Naija.â Artists like Rugged Man, Konga and Aniranks were featured on âSierra-Naijaâ album. There is no doubt that the group has come to make a great impact in Africa as a whole. X-Project has so far performed across the nation and other West African countries like Gambia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, and Liberia and the musical group is looking forward to soon. They are currently working under the latest record label in town SKP STYL-PLUS The group STYL was formed in 1997 as a gospel quartet by founding members Shifi Emoefe, Tunde Akinsanmi, Yemi Akinwonmi, and Lanre Faneyi. In 1999 Lanre passed away and Zeal Onyecheme joined the group. The name STYL which was formed by combining the first letters of the first names of the founding members then turned to Styl-Plus, the Plus being used to indicate the new addition to the group. In the year 2001, the group expanded from singing strictly gospel songs, to inspirational and love songs. In 2002 Yemi left the group to pursue another career. In 2003 the group teamed up with Anthony 'T-Jazz' Ukpong and Joseph 'Joey' Ukpong to form their own record label; Styl-Plus Music. In late October of 2003, under the management of T-jazz and Joey, they released two singles to radio stations . The response was tremendous, and the unprecedented airplay the tracks received fuelled the subsequently massive sales of the Singles on Cd and audiotapes. Based in Abuja, FCT, the group uses its strong vocals and addictive soundtracks to successfully blend together English and Indigenous languages, on their Pop and R&B tracks. The Motto of the group is "Positive-Cultural-International" and this is evident in the positive messages and the noticeable absence of raunchy and profane lyrics, which characterize most R&B groups. The members of the group are all graduates of **** Akure, and are all bachelors in their twenties. The group later released a four track compilation which further made them a household name in the country and some major cities in the world. In late February 2006, the group released their first official album titled âExpressionsâ which was totally sold out and won them Acclaims like the channel O awards and nominations for the KORA awards as the best African R&B act. The group released their ten track second album Late April 2008 titled âBack and Betterâ which includes the smash hit singles âFour yearsâ and âI no wan troubleâ. The group has been together for the past eleven years and have been in the main stream musical Industry for four years. Within these four years, STYL-PLUS has toured major cities in the United States of America, Europe, South Africa, Ireland, West Africa and most cities in Nigeria. They are currently working under the latest record label in town SKP AZADUS Olalekan Fadeyi a.k.a Azadus (A Zealous and Determined Unbowed soldier) was born in the early 70âs into a Christian and polygamous home, got his music skills from his mum and his swag from his pops; he is the master in his kind of music. He began writing songs in the 80âs and started his music career in the 90âs; he was automatically admitted into his church choir after a talent hunt. a In 1995 he joined Nigeriaâs hip hop movement DEF âOâCLAN, together with his crew Def âoâ clan, they rock shows and burnt mics in series of concerts like jimmy jattâs road block, Benson and hedges grab the mic competition, lekky sun splash just to mention a few. Though azadus plays reggae music basically, the infusion of Rap, r n b and soul makes his music unique. Azadus stood out in every performance because of his unique voice and most especially his confidence and stage craft. In 1999 he featured in tony tetuilaâs album (morning time) also showed how talented he is in plantainshun boiz body and soul. His crew def âoâ clan came out with a sing along single kilonso that had his voice blazing all over the hook. In the year 2000 he signed up with the foremost record label in the country (kennis music) with kennis music, his self titled debut had club bangers like you is the one, a self titled track, sodiyen, say me well e.t.c. His second album became an out right success in and out of the country, the album generated controversies over his nationality because of his rear brand of music. This album (distinguished) gave him series of awards and nominations in and out of the country. At the kora awards he was nominated under the reggae artiste of the year category, which made him the first reggae artiste to have the nomination in the country. His third album had nothing but sell-outs such as Hands in the air, Make sense, my story e.t.c. despite his gun shot wounds from men of the under world. He has been invited as a guest artiste on works of industry heavy weights such as ojb jezreel, wale Thompson, lord of ajasa, Bantu e.t.c. His fourth album dropped late this year on the 24th of October to be precise which is titled âunbowedâ. Unbowed being the most eagerly anticipated album of the year.
