Shovay Born Babafemi olatunde damola, a graduate of university of Ado- Ekiti is a disciple of Naija Hip hop maestro. Shovay has the distinction of being one of the upcoming young players in the Nigerian music industry. He has performed in all the major events in Nigeria and most part of Africa, Born on the 25th August. Shovay has worked and featured with Danny Young, Cornel of DâAccord (star quest 2006 winner) Shovay is a phenomenon in the arena of naija hip hop music. It was his beloved parents, through their own passion for music, who initiated his formal musical training and inspired him in the field of afro hip hop, paving the path that would eventually lead him to virtuosity. Shovay started afro hip hop learning at the age of five. He bases his style on the intensive training he received from Nigerian leading musicians, fela kuti, of kalakutta, the eminent exponent of the Luck now. He holds a degree from one of the countryâs leading university, and has been conferred honours for his distinguished contributions in the field. shovay's music is the spontaneous expression of powerful emotions and his deep knowledge of the Nigerian kind of music. His ingenuity has ushered in a purely new style of afro hip hop playing. It is undoubtedly through his clarity and elegance of performance both as an accompanist and as a soloist that he has achieved such fame throughout the city of Nigeria, as a true master of afro hip hop and as a soloist and accompanist. In addition, shovay has produced numeric recordings, including his own hit single ââEgbamuââ solo, ââmy only oneââ Featuring Cornel [Of DâAccord] and has appeared extensively on television and radio. Shovay's music reaches beyond the scope of classical music to include performances and recordings with Nigerians leading musicians. Shovay has composed for several percussion ensembles which have received much appreciation from both western as well as African audience.
