As a child, Stephon grew up listening to 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and Lilâ Wayne. âHearing âCalifornia Loveâ and âAmbition of a Ryda â inspired me to become a rapper,â says Stephon. His father, a writer, encouraged Stephon, working with him in the studio and forming a label, Mythical Records, dedicated to taking Stephonâs talent to the world. Stephonâs first single was âYoung Boss,â which brought him immediate notoriety at school. He recalls, âThe girls looked at me differently when that came out,â he says with a smile. âThey thought it was a hot track.â Since then heâs continually expanded and grown as an artist, that is evident on the songs on his upcoming album, My Life. On tracks like âSwagga Walk,â âRyda Music (Just Thinking),â and âUp Yo Game,â Stephon reveals himself a rapper with undeniable flow and sharp hooks â a rapper for his own generation. âCanât Get Wit Meâ reveals an edgier, angry side of Stephon, which he explains: âItâs about people are fake and disrespectful around other people. I see that in school. I see it everywhere in life.â Having already done over a dozen shows, Stephon is establishing himself as an A-level performer. âPerforming live is a whole different energy,â Stephon observes. âThe shouting, the dancing...Itâs exhilarating and energetic like nothing else. I canât wait to do more shows.â
