Da METROWS is a five man R&B group that came into existence in April 2000. The group metamorphosed from a churchy musical background to an amiable R&B group in its vicinity. Later that year, the group entered for and competed favourably in the National Award for Musical Excellence in Nigeria (AMEN)âs STARLET NITE competition as an all teenage band, and did creditably well.
In 2004, due to the increasing need for youth involvement in the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS, the group refocused and channelled the usage of its talent to talk about health issues âparticularly HIV/AIDS, by using its songs as an advocating tool against the spread of the disease in Nigeria.
In 2005, Da METROWS attended the International Conference on Aids & STIâs in Africa (ICASA) presented some of its songs on HIV/AIDS advocacy at the film festival and the community village centres of the conference.
In 2007, THINK TWICE â a song which talks about self caution based on positive lifestyle expected to be lived by youths, was released as a promotional single preceding a yet to be released anti-AIDS album titled âAfrica Is Destined to Surviveâ.
However, Think Twice has been enjoying appreciable airplay on Nigerian radio stations, since then.
