One is certain to hit a brick wall at the mention of a moniker like this one. The name Plus One will definitely come as a vague, unimaginative one. But wait till you encounter the owners of the name. Then you are most likely to reconsider and ask yourself this popular question, what's in a name after all? That seems to be the most probable perception of the trio, Plus One at first contact, but beyond that, is a combination of immeasurable potentials for these three young men. The trio of Precious Ukaegbu (Dede), Michael Eze (Bobo) and Henry Ukaegbu (Pipi) was drawn together by the same passion-music. The group met while in secondary school at Oregun High School in 2005. They had nursed and nurtured their love and passion for music as toddlers until they met and like magnet they naturally pulled at each other and stuck together as a group. Dede and Bobo found each other first and even without a name, both youths went round kicking shows in their school as well as others in their neighborhood. The third part of the group, Pipi came later and his talent obviously came as plus and eventually supplied the group with its name - PLUS ONE. Their first single Tin Kon Ko, attracting rave reviews and mad airplay on both radio and TV, instantly won the group fans and following from far and near. The group instantly became show promoterâs favorite across Nigeria. In November of 2009, the group was invited by Western Union on a tour of Europe (Denmark, Sweden and Finland) which opened the group to a wider audience also earning them broader fan-base. The group is basking on their incredible talent and personality to deliver them to the top of their game. Their full-length debut album, titled âCommercial Classâ was released on Monday 10, 2010 under Paco Music/Blarque Brotha Entertainment imprint. The album is arguably Nigeriaâs hottest selling pop album till date earning the group awards nominations and concerts/shows across Nigeria and West Africa. Do not judge a book by its cover is perhaps a wise advice which rings true with the group, Plus One, because beyond the obviously ordinary name is a tight group who knows exactly what time it is and they are committed to carving a niche for themselves in the industry. From what is discernable in the group thus far, what they have to offer is much more than Plus One.
