Brymo is out with the video for the hit single Ara. Ara (Wonders) as many have enjoyed is an all-round solid song with melody and delivery properly done. The video quality shows the creativity with which it was produced. This creative work, was shot on Location in Lagos Nigeria and directed by Aje Filmworks. Information from several sources has lead us to know rapper Eedris Abdulkareem and singer Jaywon where engaged in a fight that lead Jaywon to the hospital. The story is that Eedris and Jaywon amongst other artistes had attended and performed at a street carnival held in National Bank Estate, Satellite Town on Thursday, December 29, 2011. Sources say after Jaywon’s performance, his excited fans had followed him to the bus which conveyed the acts to the show.

[color=orange]‘Eedris started insulting him. Jaywon didn’t want any drama, so he decided to get down from the bus so that things wouldn’t escalate’, an insider who would rather remain anonymous speaks. The summary of the whole saga is that the younger singer Jaywon had blood stains all over him‘,

Jaywon twitted (@JAYWONJUWONLO) saying ‘Funny how people that are supposed to be good role models turn out to be really ‘good’….#SMH’. He continued by saying “This iroko tree wasn’t planted by human so no evil shall befall me cuz am covered by the blood of the most high. #SMH’,.”

Eedris also twitted (@idris_Abdulkarm). ‘Don’t blv evrythn u read… Don’t blv rumours. Stay positive. 1luv’.

Nigerian Musician Producer Samklef & Yvonne Iheduru celebrate their traditional wedding. Samkelf has produced tracks for best-selling artistes including D'Prince, Wizkid and Ruggedman; He also headlined a certified smash hit "Molowo Noni", now he has taken an even bigger step in life as he is now a married man and father-to-be.

[color=orange]Samkelf (Real Name - Samuel Chuks Oguachuba) and his fiance Yvonne Iheduru celebrated their traditional wedding on the 28th December 2011 at the bride’s family house in Imo State.

According to reports, Yvonne is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Lagos. As we can see from the photos, Samkelf and Yvonne are expecting their first child!

Congrats to the couple.

The recent Koko Koncert took place in Lagos at the Eko Hotel & Suites on the 27th of December 20011. As expected the event was sold out. Fans and music lovers where in high hopes to see Kanye West show up at the Lagos series, just as he surprised fans at the London event. Although Kanye did not show up the stage was lighted by super stars and upcoming stars like D’banj, D’Prince, Wande Coal, Dr. SID, K-Switch, Don Jazzy, P-Square, Davido, Naeto C and Wizkid.

Rapper Raoul John Njeng-Njeng AKA Skales has alot to thank God for. Skales survived a ghastly motor accident which has left one person reportedly dead. Skales who was understood to be leaving Elegushi beach located at Lekki in Lagos where he partied at the DV8 Carnival.[color=orange]Sources say Skales along with three other friends hung on the vehicle because the vehicle was already filled up. They rode towards the Lekki Express way when their vehicle bumped into a ditch and tumbled. The rapper escaped death along with two others but a popular custom T-shirt maker known as Syntillate was said to have ended up under the SUV which was lying on the floor upside down. While some sources say Syntillate (who is popularly known for his iRep T-shirts) is dead others suggest he is still in a coma.

Skales twitted hours later to say, ‘Tank God 4 life….God is 2 merciful…he has neva failed!!! He saved ma life so ama giv him all d praise…so happy 2 see anoda day!!!’ @youngskales tweeted.

[color=orange]EME is yet to make an official statement but the label’s rep Osagie Osarenkhoe confirmed the news. ‘Yes he was in an accident but he’s doing fine, I haven’t seen him to get full details yet’, she assured NET.

To commemorate the 10th year anniversary of its inception in 2002, the Change-A-Life Foundation has teamed up with award winning recording artist Tuface "2baba" Idibia to help put smiles on the faces of several less privileged children from around the country. It was a dream come true for these children, who got the unique opportunity to record in studio with Tuface for Change-A-Life’s annual January 1st show. More than happy to give back, Tuface thrilled the CAL kids as they recorded a remix of his song“Thank You Lord” off his debut album Face to Face.

[color=orange]The remix will air on theJanuary 1st show hosted by CAL founder Funmi Iyanda and broadcast on the NTA Network and LTV 8 from 9am to 10am.

Change-A-Life is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to intervene in the lives of talented but disadvantaged individuals. [color=orange]CAL is the vision of TV personality and media entrepreneur, Ms. Funmi Iyanda, who started the organization in 2002. It was run as an intervention project from 2002 till 2009 when it was incorporated as a full service non-governmental and non­profit organization.

Like his long-time hero Stevie Wonder, Nigerian music pioneer Cobhams Asuquo was born visually-impaired. And again, like the American R&B legend, the lack of sight was never enough to stop Asuquo from realizing his ambitions. Instead, it only fueled his optimism and desire to achieve success. “Being blind has played an integral role in forming who I am and I think to some extent is responsible for my optimism,” says Asuquo, an award-winning music producer, song-writer and musician. “When you feel there’s nothing more to lose — if you want to work towards anything, you probably will want to work towards gaining and I think that’s what being blind has done for me.”

A versatile musical talent, Asuquo has been pushing the boundaries of Nigeria’s contemporary sound. His fresh mixture of different styles and beats has helped the west African country become one the continent’s modern music hotspots.

[color=orange]“I fuse a lot of stuff to create my music” he says. “It varies — it’s jazz, it’s classical, it’s Afro, it’s whatever, it depends on what best interprets the music.”

Possessed of natural talent, the self-taught musician started honing his skills from an early age while growing up in a barracks.As a young boy, he used to organize concerts in his neighborhood, drumming on his mother’s barrels of water.

“All the kids from the neighboring block would come and we’d hang out and we’d make so much noise. I didn’t realize at the time that I was preparing myself for what would be my life, my career path, my destiny,” Asuquo remembers.

His musical journey, however, seemed to come to a halt a few years later when he entered university to pursue studies in law.

But Asuquo soon realized that he had to follow his musical passion, leaving university to embark on a path that, for a young blind musician in Nigeria, was far from easy to tread.

[color=orange]“(I had to) sleep on studio floors all across Lagos, worked at different studios, worked without pay, I’ve been out on the road, out on the streets, doing my thing,” Asuquo recalls. “I had to convince people that I could do it — I had sessions that were canceled because they weren’t sure I could deliver either because they thought I was too young or maybe as a blind person, ‘how do we trust our music which is our future and investment?’” he adds.

But it didn’t take long for Asuquo to prove himself as his musical talent soon began to shine. Over the next few years he went on to work closely with internationally-renowned artists such as pop sensation Asa and R&B star Darey and today he is a much-in demand producer operating from his own studio.

He is also a judge on Nigeria’s “Project Fame,” a television musical talent show where he helps young singers achieve their dreams.

[color=orange]“It’s important for me to mentor and inspire fresh talent, to work with fresh talent,” he says. “I feel there is a lot I’ve learned in my journey as far as music is concerned and I’m in a position to share that knowledge.”

But Asuquo is not only interested in helping out fledgling music stars. He also sees himself as an ambassador for blind young Nigerians who still face many challenges in their daily lives.

[color=orange]“I think it would be meaningless if I can achieve as much as I can achieve and as much as I hope to achieve and I’m not able to affect other blind people,” he says. “It is time to bring to the fore the needs of people with special needs and just how much they can contribute to growing Nigeria as a nation and the world.”

Nigerian pop stars 2face Idibia and Wizkid have denied being signed to Senegalese - American singer Akon's Konvict/Kon Live record label, stating the news is downright false even though there is a relationship between the parties. It was earlier reported that Akon had signed the pop singers as representatives to his Konvict Label, after Akon told reporters in Nigeria that he had signed the acts and was looking forward to working with them. ‘In Nigeria with my brothers about to take over Africa with @2faceidibia and @wizkidayo big up to P-square’, @Akon tweeted.

[color=orange]But Now Muzik, 2face’s management company says that 2face hasn’t been signed but has a ‘fantastic working relationship with Konvict/Kon Live’. ‘People must have misinterpreted the news, 2face is however Konvict family’, NM CEO Efe Omorogbe said. Idibia’s publicist Bayo Omisore, told NET ‘2face has not been signed onto Konvict Music. There are only discussions going on. The agreement we have so far is word of mouth. Until documents are seen, agreed on and signed 2face isn’t signed’.

In similar fashion, Wizkid’s management have also denied the supposed signing; clearly stating that the only label the young singer is signed to is EME. ‘Hey, No Wizkid isn’t signed to any label but Empire Mates Entertainment’, Osagie Osarenkhoe, told us in response to an SMS enquiry . Attempts to reach Psquare or their reps proved abortive.

No one is yet sure why Akon went ahead to announce the signings. Enquiries sent to his official E-mail address have not been replied.

[color=orange]A similar instance had happened years back when news of Akon signing 2face’s former band mate Faze surfaced. Faze had told reporters in Lagos he’d been signed on Akon’s Konvict. Akon initially denied, but later, he issued a video release identifying with ‘Faze my home boy’ and assuring fans of a working relationship. The Konvict/Faze deal has, however, yet to see the light of day.
