BANKY W SPEAKS UP ON WIZKID'S ALLEGED WOMANIZING

Bankole Wellighton known as Banky W, and ceo of E.M.E actually made Wizkid a superstar. But it's so disheartening that, there has been much controversies for Wizkid. Wizkid has been faced with too many controversies through the year, ranging from impregnating an undergraduate, to allegedly stealing the Pakurumo song, to the internet unclad picture scandal, the rumoured affair between him and sexy actress Tonto Dike and other 'illicit' affair-he's sure got a bagful of scandals rocking his back.

In a recent interview,Banky W reacts to Wizkid alleged womanizing and the rest of the rumour.

[color=orange]First,the Bible says train your child the way he should go so that when he grows,he will not depart from it.So,I believe if you put the right thing in place and the right training in place and you do the right thing at the beginning.I think Wiz has a good training spirit and I believe he has learnt that from his parents because I took him up two and half years ago.He has great parents and we love them and we have constant communication with them.

We need to thank them raising a solid boy like Wiz.So,I am acting as his big brother and boss and I constantly talk to him and the other artiste,Skales.I try to instill discipline in them and level of focus too.

[color=orange]Obviously,they live with me and it is very easy to checkmate them and provide the disciplinary roles necessary.So,they take to my advice.

Asked,there were some unpleasant reports about Wizkid.As his boss,I want you to react to some.He was alleged to be a womanizer?He said On the alleged womanizing and the rest of the rumour,[color=orange]I am not a stranger when it comes to rumour.In fact,I have a lot of experience when it comes to rumour and it’s always coming up when you have become a recognized figure.

There are lots of people that will love you and appreciate you and at the same time,some people’s job is to slander your personality.They will spread as many as possible rumours about you.If you ask them why they are spreading the rumour,they will not have a definite answer other than they don’t just like you.

[color=orange]With that,Iam not going to address anybody that wants to tarnish my image and that of my artistes.

IT has been weeks of high suspense, waiting, guessing, prediction and race to win the array of prizes put together by KOGA Entertainment as giveaways for those who correctly guessed the names of the remaining five artistes that will perform at the highly anticipated concert of 2011, the TOP10 MICS. It will be recalled that on September 9, 2011, KOGA Entertainment, released five out of the 10 artistes who will be performing at the highly anticipated concert of the year come December 23 at TBS, Lagos. The five acts are African queen crooner, Tuface Idibia, rapper, MI, Afro juju creator, Sir Shina Peters, Paramount King of Fuji, Obesere and Trybesmen honcho, Eldee.

[color=orange]In a bid to engage the general public, KOGA Entertainment asked people to predict the remaining five artistes and win blackberry phones, mini laptops, TV sets and designer wears from Shakara Clothing. Thus, the race began, the competition ended last week Friday with no one getting the prediction right.

“The weeks of the predictions were the most exciting weeks at Bigsam Media. Some people came close with their predictions, some had depths, others were funny while some were completely way off mark. We thank the people for participating and hope they will win gifts in the competition that will still follow this campaign’’ the agency said..

[color=orange]However, KOGA Entertainment has revealed the identity of the five remaining artistes that will be performing alongside Tuface Idibia, Eldee, Sir Shina Peters, M.I and Obesere. Emerging Afro beat legend, Femi Kuti, will be leading the new generation artistes which includes Port Harcourt’s first son, Duncan Mighty, youngster, Whizkid, female singer, Mocheddah and the Okoye twins, P-Square in the concert that has been tagged the concert of the people, by the people and for the people.

So, come December 23rd, at the expansive venue, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, TOP 10 MICS concert will parade 10 leading lights in the Nigerian music industry namely Tuface, Femi Kuti, Eldee Tha Don, Sir Shina Peters, MI, Duncan Mighty, Mochedah, P-Square, Obesere and Whizkid.

[color=orange]“We are doing Top10 MICS for many reasons, long before now, some of us who are old enough still have memories of Lekki Sun Splash and other concerts at open venues where people enjoyed themselves, feel safe and look forward to the next edition. We are trying to recreate the memory of good old days with the infusion of contemporary offerings.

Aside this, we are also trying to create a concert where everybody will have a sense of belonging. We are tired of events where only hip hop audience would be catered for. We want an event where fans of different genres of music could mix and experience the thrill of live performances of leading lights in different genres.

JJC SKILLZ TALKS ABOUT THE PRESENT NOT D'BANJ OR DON JAZZY

JJC arrived in South London's inner-city neighbourhood at 14, after having been raised in Kano. As a teenager, he became consumed by hip-hop, while the music room at Dick Shepherd School in Brixton became his escape, as well as the springboard that eventually led to the formation of Big Brovaz. The group went on to achieve numerous Top 10 hits in the UK and the rest of the world, including their first single with Sony Music, "Nu Flow". Skillz of the JJC crew speaks to TADE MAKINDE on in exploits and expectations in the music industry.

[color=orange]How was the group formed?
I am JJC and at first I was a DJ then I branched into music production and was part of the Black British Group called Big Brovas, I produced a lot of music for the group but decided to branch into afro music because I felt there was a gap in the market. I then formed the group JJC & 419.

[color=orange]When did D’Banj come in?
No comment, I really want to discuss present and future projects and not dwell in the past,sorry

[color=orange]What about Don Jazzy?
No comment too

[color=orange]So, what was the fight with Jazzy in London recently about; supremacy, or you won't comment on that also?
No, I won't say anything about that also. I am really sorry.

[color=orange]You have relocated to Nigeria, do you think it will be worth it?
Yes, I believe it is worth it because the Fans demanded it but I wanted to come back with the right package and content. Also I felt the industry was right for what I have to show them. I want to keep my previous audience and gain new ones. I have always said ‘Nigeria is the best land’, it is always good to be home.

[color=orange]Now that you here, what steps have you taken to be a major player in the industry?
I have always been someone who likes learning new skills, for instance I direct music videos, signs new young talented artists who can speak to the new generation and move where the industry is going. I am also a business man as I have my company called Big Boyz Entertainment which serves the entertainment industry by doing music videos, producing good music, making documentaries and signing artists as mentioned before. To become a major player I have increased my skills and expertise and I am catering to the entertainment industry as many ways as possible.

[color=orange]You seem to be an all-rounder, producing, directing videos, composing songs; what is your major?
I have always enjoyed signing and developing new talent. It is my first love. I consider myself like a miner that searches for the raw material but then after polishing this raw material it transforms to a beautiful diamond. I like discovering raw talents and working with them.

[color=orange]Jack of all trade, will this not eventually make you a master of none?
I don’t think so, whilst I still feel that my first love is discovering raw talent, I believe I am still an entertainer and that I am gifted in all areas of entertainment. When my fans started requesting that I come back and do what I do best which is writing music, producing music, I felt I had to become the best I can be and be self-sufficient. I obviously also have talented young people working with me like 2kris one of my artists who also produces and AB-Fresh who is also an artist and video directors. I have to utilise my skills and be efficient to be a successful business man.

[color=orange]Why not concentrate on your major?
I think I have answered that in the previous question, to succeed you need to diverse and be efficient with the right team working with you.

[color=orange]Why did you leave for London?
Like I said before many of my fans were asking for me and it just happen to be the right time.

[color=orange]How was life initially in Jand?
Life was good but like everything in life, if you want to succeed you have to work hard; so I worked hard. The name JJC came from being teased by others, including Africans, when I just arrived from Nigeria to London, but I turned that negative in to positive. I believed in myself and my talent. I adapted and worked hard.

[color=orange]Were you born there?
No, I was born in Nigeria, Kano

[color=orange]How did you eventually get into the system as a Nigerian?
Like I mentioned before, I worked hard, relied on my talent and God.

[color=orange]What would you say was your major achievement in Jand?
It would have to be getting Big Brovas signed to Sony and helping the album go Platinum. I have done all this by the time I was 18. It was a great achievement and I hope to surpass that again.

[color=orange]When did you decide you were coming home?
It has been a long time coming but it is all about timing. I have been thinking about it for a couple of years but I wanted to be ready. I always believe that God’s time is the best. When he said ‘ready’ then I was ready.

[color=orange]Are you here with all the members of JJC or some are behind?
Just to correct you, I am JJC, an artist in my own right. The other artists of Big Boyz All Stars include Tipsy, Lil Miss, AB-Fresh, King Lexy, 2Kris, Tee Bee O and Noni. Some of them are here but some have been left behind but they have visited at some point and we have plans for all of us to come to Nigeria. Watch this space!!

[color=orange]How were you able to convince others to come with you?
I didn’t have to convince anyone. There is a plan and vision, which is shared and followed by all the crew. We all believe in our plans and the future.

[color=orange]Who and what will you miss about London?
I have to admit I will miss constant electricity, family and friends. You do get used to a certain way of life but I will be fine. I will definitely not miss the cold.

[color=orange]No loved ones left behind? No girlfriends, family members, even white pals to be missed?
Of-course there will always be people I will miss but I have loved ones in many places including Nigeria.

[color=orange]How do you manage to keep all members together?
I do this with a lot of passion, drive and because we all have the same ethos which is to do the best we can and show this to the world.

[color=orange]Government wants to support entertainment with $200m, how should it be expended?
It would be nice if this was invested in new talent and try to put a structure in place for artists to be paid reasonably for their music.

[color=orange]How is Lagos different and similar to London?
Like all major cities traffic is a problem in Nigeria and London and the rising population in the inner city. Differences are the weather, the close community in Nigeria which can be difficult to have in London because everyone is too busy.

[color=orange]How do you unwind in Lagos?
Never really, I am too busy. When possible I enjoy sitting down with friends and catching up. In London, people are far too busy to sit down to talk.

I DON'T LIKE SEX, IT HAS BEEN OVERRATED - GOLDIE

Rumour has it that you preferred hanging out with women rather than men. What is your take on that?
I don't even have a girl friend; my work does not even allow me to keep friends. Like I said earlier on, I don't go out clubbing, I only go out for an event, if you see me at an event, you will see me with my personal assistant, Clariet, who is a tall model, and you see me with my team. I'm reluctant to say this, but I have to say it, can anyone come out and say, "I'm a friend of Goldie," or that he or she knows a girl friend of Goldie? I’m too busy to have a friend, and you know you have to have time for your friends, and I don t have that time, I am always too busy to hang around.

[color=orange]Do you see yourself as being a controversial person?

No, I don’t see myself as a controversial person, I think people tend to see me as being controversial because I do different things, or may be the character I portrait in my videos. People may have different opinions about me; also I think most of the controversies are from people who don’t really know me. A lot of these people don’t really know me; they don’t know anything concrete about me, they just make a copy of me and spread it.

[color=orange]Any lucky guy that has swept you off your feet yet?

For now I want to speak about my music career, my family and my fans because they are the ones who brought me to limelight.

[color=orange]So, when is Goldie getting married?

Obviously everyone is looking forward to settling down with someone one day. I don’t think I need to make noise about when or who I am getting married to; marriage is a thing of commitment and it’s not until you call the whole world to come and felicitate with you that you know you are married, it is just a committed thing from ones heart.

[color=orange]Are you kind of planning a secret wedding?

I am not saying that, I am not saying anything about a wedding, all I’m saying is that your connection with someone should be in the heart and not a public spectacle.

[color=orange]Do you believe in love at first sight?

I believe in lust at first sight, but anything can happen after that; though it hasn’t happened to me yet.

[color=orange]So who are you connected with right now?

Right now, I am not connected with anyone that wants to be spoken about.

[color=orange]What is it that Goldie will never be caught up in?

Walking on the red carpet naked!

[color=orange]What are the things you can’t do without?

I like eating, I like my food. I don’t joke with my food. I like pounded yam and egusi soup, jollof rice and assorted meat. I also like to watch documentaries; I like to learn more about life and animals. I also like telling stories.

[color=orange]Do you use any drug that enhances your performance?
[color=orange]Because there was a story that you always kiss before you go on stage to perform? (Prolonged laughter) is it rumour?

So if I just give a kiss then go to the stage and perform, then I am too much.

[color=orange]Do you like kissing?

No, I don’t really like kissing, [color=orange]you know why? Because you don’t really know where that person has taken his mouth to. I don’t like kissing. Mouth to mouth, no!

[color=orange]So what do you prefer then?

I like hugging. Hug me and I hug you back.
[color=orange]
What about sex?

I don’t really know, I think sex has been overrated.

[color=orange]Overrated?

I personally believe that if you have too much sex, it could affect your creativity. So, I don’t like to have sex when I’m working.
